FIX YOUR A/C

BEFORE THE

SUMMER

HEAT!

Fort Collins and Loveland homeowners know: summer is not the time to face an unexpected a/c repair. Best to get the A/C recharged and running properly before you need it. But we get it. This never happens! Instead, many A/C units will die after their first long, hot day. Long Heating & Air will help you, even during the peak summer months, to get your A/C system working again, from simple refrigerant recharges to diagnosis and a/c repair.
Fix Your A/C Before Summer Heat!
SMART A/C SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS Your air conditioner is a complex device with many considerations. The compressor is an obvious culprit in many air conditioning unit failures, but it’s not the only one. Let our pro air conditioning service teams take the guesswork out of your A/C repair.
UNDERSTANDING THE SCIENCE From basic square footage of the area being cooled, to a keen understanding of thermodynamics and room design, Long HVAC technicians will assess the details of your home cooling needs during the repair. If we possibly can, Long Heating & Air will prolong the life of your aging home A/C unit.

A/C Repair Checklist

There is a right way and a wrong way to troubleshoot air conditioning problems. Northern Colorado cooling systems have needs specific to our climate and altitude. Below is an outline of the process we use to stay consistent and efficient when diagnosing and repairing home A/C systems.
1. CONDENSER PAD Ensure the pad is level and that the condenser has not been damaged by a non-level surface.
2. EVAPORATOR COIL Is the Evaporator Coil functioning as it should? Is there water damage from a malfunctioning evaporation process?
3. COMPRESSORDIAGNOSTICS We have specific tools to evaluate whether power is getting to the unit and whether that power is making it to all needed circuitry.
4. PRESSURE TEST LINES Verifying that your system lines are working under normal load comes next. This will reveal pressure or leak issues.
5. REFRIGERANT First we vacuum out any refrigerant in the lines to ensure that a refrigerant recharge is not diluted by subpar coolant mixture.
6. RECHARGE REFRIGERANT Nearly every A/C system can use an annual refrigerant recharge. This is especially true of older, malfunctioning A/C units.
